Focus Timer Help
Focus Timer is a focus timer app that helps you put your phone down and stay focused.
Basic Flow
- Start a focus session from the timer screen.
- Keep your phone placed down while focusing.
- When the focus session ends, the app moves to a break.
- When the break ends, start the next focus session.
- After completing 4 sets, the app moves to a long break.
Stamina
Starting a focus session consumes stamina. If you do not have enough stamina, you cannot start a focus session.
Recovery Tickets
If your focus session is interrupted because you pick up your phone or leave the screen, you can use 1 recovery ticket to resume from the remaining time.
When you resume with a recovery ticket, the interruption is not finalized as a failure. Your consecutive success count is also kept.
Recovery tickets are granted at the following times:
- 1 ticket on first launch
- 1 ticket after 7 consecutive successful days
- 1 ticket after completing 4 consecutive cycles without a failure
The 7-day streak bonus is granted every 7 days, such as on day 7, 14, and 21. The 4-cycle streak bonus is also granted every 4 cycles, such as on cycle 4, 8, and 12.
If multiple conditions are met at the same time, you receive tickets for each condition.
Notifications
The app can show local notifications when a break or long break finishes. On Android 13 and later, notification permission is required to show notifications.
Failure Detection
During a focus session, picking up your phone, tilting it significantly, or leaving the screen may be treated as an interruption.
Logs and Share Images
The log screen lets you review your focus records. You can generate a share image from your logs and share it through Android’s share feature.
